Latvian Prime Minister suffers concussion after car accident
Riga - Latvian Prime Minister Ivars Godmanis sustained a fractured skull and concussion in a traffic accident Wednesday in the capital, Riga.
Godmanis was taken to a hospital where he is expected to spend at least a week and he is not expected to attend a European Council summit in Brussels later this week, local media reported.
The accident happened when a minibus and a government Audi A8 vehicle collided in the city centre.
A driver, bodyguard, the prime minister's chief of staff Juris Radzevics, who were inside the car at the time of the accident, were not hurt. (dpa)
