JD-S has a bleak future: S M Krishna
Bangalore, Apr 29 : The Chairman of the Congress Election Management and Coordination Committee and former Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna said today that people are angry with the Janata Dal-Secular’s (JD-S) lust for power and display of rank opportunism which made its future bleak.
"People have already taken note of JD-S' acts of betrayal, the rank opportunism it displayed in the last 40 months and its lust for power", Krishna said.
"The only objective of JD-S was to share the spoils. People will not be kind towards that party", he said citing the first alliance of the JD-S with the Congress to form a coalition government in 2004 after the election delivered a fractured verdict and later with the BJP to share power.
When asked about JD-S Chief H D Devegowda's claims that no party will be in a position to form a government without his party's support after the elections, he said, "I think the JD-S has given up before the fight has started."
“Gowda is aware that the anti-incumbency factor would spell a doom for his party in the coming polls. If there is no anti-incumbency they would have targeted 60 to 70 seats. The very fact that they reduced their target figure as low as 30 shows that demoralisation has crept into the party," he added. (ANI)
