Tanvi Vyas Is The New Miss India Earth
The newly crowned Panataloons Femina Miss India Earth Harshita Saxena has landed in a problem all because her agreement with her previous modeling agency (Gladrags) overlapped with that of the Miss India pageant by three days.
In a press report Harshita said, “I apologise to the officials of Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2008 and voluntarily surrender the title of Pantaloons Femina Miss India Earth 2008. It was an oversight on my part.”
At a press meeting, President Gladrags Beauty Pageants, Maureen Wadia stated that Harshita is a model from her company and is still in contract with the Gladrags, which bar her from participating in any other beauty contest.
According to sources, though Harshita’s deal the company began on March 13 2006 and was valid for 2 years, there was a clause which stated that the agreement would start on the day of the event being staged that was April 8 2006.
Hence officially her agreement with Gladrags ended on April 8 2008, 3 days after the Miss India pageant.
Maureen Wadia says, "I feel sorry. It shouldn't have come to this stage. However, I feel it's extremely important that we honour the law and we live by the law."
Now, Harshita's crown has been passed on to Tanvi Vyas of Vadodra, who becomes the new Miss India Earth.
