2G loss could be Rs 50000 crore: CBIGovernment had claimed that 2G spectrum loss is zero where as CBI contradict these calculations and come across a loss of Rs 50,000 crore. The agency said that revenue loss due to manipulation of policy and under-pricing of spectrum would lie between Rs 22,000 crore and Rs 50,000 crore.

All these figures were revealed by the Director of Central Bureau of Investigation, AP Singh before the Parliament's Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Initially the loss calculated by the CBI, along with the Enforcement Directorate was Rs 22,000 crore and the estimate is short of the Rs 67,000 to Rs 1.76 lakh crore loss estimated by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).

The CBI chief was asked by PAC chairman Murli Manohar Joshi on the current investigations conducted by the agency and ED, to which CBI chief said that the scam cost the public exchequer Rs 40,000-50,000 crore and the figures will be revised as the enquiry progress.
