US to send extra troops to US-Mexico border

Barack-ObamaUS president Barack Obama is going to invest 500 million dollar in new funding to deploy about 1200 extra troops to help and protect the US-Mexico border. An US official has informed that the National Guard troops would be sent to the border. During that period of time the recruitment and training of additional troops will be ready to serve there.

This move was taken because of the pressure from the border to help curb illegal immigration and drug smuggling. But Mexico has said that US have to use the troops to pursue the criminals but not the migrants. Mexico is sure about the decrement of crime in the border by the US troops.

Last week the President of Mexico urged Congress to edit the US immigration policies. He has also criticized the new Arizona law to which the police officers to check the immigration status of people.

He requested the US lawmakers to stop the flow of arms to the border to stop the country's drug war. Mr. Calderon the president has said that he is confident that they would defeat the drug gangs with the help of US army.

President Obama is also too serious about this issue and hopefully it would be resolved quickly.
