Communal Violence rises in Hyderabad

K-RosaiahThe decision to deploy additional forces has been taken by the Andhra Pradesh government, including nearly 1000 paramilitary personnel dispatched by the Centre. The decision came after communal clashes gripped Hyderabad.

It was specified by Chief Minister K Rosaiah, "We are constantly monitoring and reviewing the situation and also talking to the Centre on this."

Minimum of 36 people were injured in stone-pelting while other 70 were taken into custody following there were clashes between two communities in the old city.

After this, there were issuance of prohibitory orders in 18 police stations of south zone and four police stations of Goshamahal division of west zone of the city.

"AICC President Sonia Gandhi called me over phone today and enquired about the situation. She has also appealed for peace," explained Rosaiah.

The situation was described as normally resuming to normal by the Home Minister, who drove to the assembly after visiting the old city.

Even the people have been asked to observe restraint and ensure that things did not flare up by leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu.
