Beckham says second loan move to A C Milan almost finalised
London, Oct. 15 : Football star David Beckham is confident he will seal another loan move to A C Milan by the start of the New Year and bolster his hopes of being part of England''s 2010 World Cup squad.
Beckham was voted man of the match despite only appearing as a second-half substitute for the 3-0 win over Belarus in a World Cup qualifier at Wembley.
Coach Fabio Capello has made it clear that the former Manchester United star has to play at a high level of club football to have a realistic chance of being on the plane to South Africa.
The Mirror quoted Beckham, as saying: "The Milan deal is almost done and hopefully that will be sorted out in the next month and I''ll probably be going there at the end of December."
"The move to Milan is close. I''ve always said I want to go back there and Milan have said they''ve wanted me from the time I left there. They are still saying the same now. It is 95% done and dusted so I don''t see why it is not going to happen now.
Beckham added: "Am I on target for a World Cup spot? There is a long time to go, a lot of games to play, a lot of the season left. We will see. I''ll carry on working hard, playing as hard as I can, and just to give myself a chance. If I''m in the squad, then great, and if not, then we''ve got a strong squad of players that can go to Africa and make it interesting." (ANI)
