Air India has decided to start one of its two new direct flights to New York from Delhi and Mumbai to Washington in the coming month.

The sources informed that the airline is also altering the timing of its last flight in the Delhi-Mumbai route on both sides from 8 pm to 9 pm. This is to draw more business travelers on the route.

Sources added that the airline also envisages to bring passengers from Bangkok to Mumbai and book them on west-bound flights. This strategy is being followed in the flights from Dhaka and has been a success.

The airline is having a market share of 16.6% in the domestic market and over 33% of the worldwide passengers from India.
