Salman not interested in buying IPL franchise
Bollywood actor Salman Khan has made it clear that he was interested in buying a team in the India Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament.
Confirming the news, Salman's brother Sohail Khan said: “It's not true. Salman is not buying any IPL team. Yesterday when he was shooting for Dus Ka Dum I called up bhai and asked him whether it was true and he denied it."
The actor met IPL commissioner Lalit Modi on Wednesday at a suburban Mumbai hotel to discuss the possibility of buying one of the two new teams which will be added to the tournament from the 2011 season.
Recently, the media had reported that actors like Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan are also interested to buy one of the two new teams. Moreover, Modi had said that more than 20 celebrities were interested in buying new IPL teams.
Currently, Preity Zinta (King’s XI Punjab), Shilpa Shetty (Rajasthan Royals) and Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla (Kolkata Knight Riders) are associated with the high- profile Twenty20 cricket tournament.
