Political adviser quits over Canberra groping claims

Political adviser quits over Canberra groping claims Sydney - An adviser to the opposition Liberal Party's spokeswoman on women's rights resigned Thursday after claims he groped women at a ball in Canberra's Parliament House.

Anthony Scrinis, who worked for Sophie Mirabella, allegedly grabbed the breasts of women at Wednesday's mid-winter ball in the Great Hall.

"Although he disputes some of the allegations being made, he has voluntarily tendered his resignation, which I have accepted," Mirabella said in a statement. (dpa)
