Zac Efron keen to ditch teen icon image
Washington, Apr 14: Hollywood actor Zac Efron, who acquired a huge fans base with the help of his stint in the High School Musical series, is keen to ditch his teen heart-throb status.
In a bid to move away from his teen icon image, he opted out of remake of Kevin Bacon''s Footloose for dark drama `The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud' - about a caretaker at a cemetery who has weekly meetings with the ghost of his deceased younger brother.
Though he opted out of the flick, Efron is aware that his decision may cost him his fanbase.
"You''re never going to please everybody. I''m growing up and that''s a part of life, that''s the way it is. So I know that," Contactmusic quoted Zac as saying.
Meanwhile, according to reports, Chace Crawford may replace Zac in Footlose remake. (ANI)
