Bjorn Ulvaeus says ABBA reunion would be a disappointment for fans

Bjorn Ulvaeus says ABBA reunion would be a disappointment for fansMelbourne, Apr 7 : ABBA star Bjorn Ulvaeus is just not in favour of the band's reunion because he feels that it would disappoint their fans.

The 4 member group - including Benny Andersson, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Bjorn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Faltskog - parted in the early 1980s.

Though it was being anticipated that the band would reunite for a gig to thrill the fans, Bjorn has rebuffed the idea of a reunion.

"I picture myself walking on stage as ABBA and an audience out there being very disappointed afterwards because it is not at all what they had anticipated," News. com. au quoted Bjorn as telling BBC TV.

"Even if they know we are much older now, still they would expect some of the old energy and all of that, the youthfulness. Why disappoint them and why disappoint myself? There''s absolutely no reason to do that," Bjorn added.

Although Bjorn is in no mood to reunite, he certainly is an avid fan of his former bandmates.

He strongly believes that Faltskog and Lyngstad''s voices were the key to the band''s success.

"I think the two girls'' voices were very special," Bjorn said.

"The songs can be minor key, the lyrics can be very sombre, but when the girls sing somehow it sounds very joyous and uplifting and that''s a very strange phenomenon which I think is very much part of ABBA," Bjorn added. (ANI)
