Burglars strike at four places
looted valuables and cash estimated around Rs1,05,000
Burglars struck at four different places – three houses and one shop – across the city between Saturday evening and Monday morning, and decamped with valuables and cash.
In the first incident, the offenders looted the house of a shop owner in Pillan Garden near KG Halli on Monday.
According to police, the complainant, Aslam Pasha, left home around 3:30pm. When he returned at 7pm, he found the front door lock broken and valuables and cash worth Rs25,000 were missing. The offenders were suspected to have entered the house between 5:15pm and 6:15pm.
In the second incident, a gang of thieves broke into a shop at Avenue Road, Ulsoor Gate and fled with Rs45, 000 in cash.
Madanlal, owner of the shop selling silk saris in MDB complex, near Chowdeshwari Temple Street, had closed the shop on Saturday night and went to his native place. When he returned on Monday, he found the locks of the shutter broken and cash missing, the police said. Ulsoor Gate police is investigating the case.
In the third incident, miscreants broke open the door of Ravindra's house in Arkere Mico Layout on Monday. Ravindra and family had left for Hubli on Sunday. On Monday morning the houseowner's maid, who came to the neighbor's house, found the lock of the gate had broken. When she went inside the compound to check, she found the house ransacked and informed the neighbour, Kanan, immediately. The neighbour informed the police and Ravindra about the incident.
In the fourth incident, thieves broke into a house at Ramanna Garden in Vidyaranyapura.
Babu, the house owner and family had away in Hyderabad to attend a function on Saturday night. On Monday morning, neighbours noticed that the lock of the main door was broken. When went inside the house, they found the house ransacked. They informed the police immediately.
Babu and family returned on Tuesday and found that valuables and cash estimated at Rs35,000 were missing.
