Britney’s ex-manager not suing her to repay his debts, says his lawyer
Washington, February 5 : Lawyer of Sam Lutfi, former friend and manager of Britney Spears, has claimed that the lawsuit against the singer and her parents was not filed for reaping monetary benefits.
Lutfi had turned to a Los Angeles court to sue the Spears for libel and defamation, three days after Britney's father Jamie had obtained new restraining orders against him and her former paparazzo-beau Adnan Ghalib.
His attorney Bryan Freedman rebuffed allegations that the legal papers were submitted by his client in a bid to pay off his debts and prevent foreclosure on his home.
"It's nonsense. The homeowners association misplaced two checks. The checks were paid. This is just more lies and misrepresentation about a guy who is a great, caring human being," E! Online quoted Freedman as saying.
But, according to a copy of a county tax allegedly obtained by the entertainment guide, Lutfi owes 18,508 dollars on his 3,398 square foot, three-bedroom, five-bathroom on his West L. A. condo.
Lutfi had presented his version of the events in the legal papers, including the allegation that he had tried to help the pop princess reconcile with her parents.
Holding Britney's parents at fault instead, Freedman added: "Why would a supposedly loving mother write a tell-all about the sordid details of the two worst nights of her daughter''s life for a profit?
"And why would a father, who claims his daughter is incompetent, send her on a massive tour when she can't even manage her own affairs?" (ANI)
