Rs 5,000 Imposed On The Organizers Of Preity Zinta’s Birthday Party

Rs 5,000 Imposed On The Organizers Of Preity Zinta’s Birthday Party In a significant move, the city police has imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the event organizer of Preity Zinta’s birthday party at her residence in Khar(W) for noise pollution.

The Bollywood actress invited a trouble by partying loud into the wee hours of 1st February (Sunday). The neighbors of the actress complained that loud music was played at the birthday bash late into the night.

While commenting over this development, a senior police officer said, “Zinta is not fault, in such cases, we take action against the event organiser under the Bombay Police Act.”

The Mumbai police had called on Preity Zinta's house at Bandra to turn down the volume of the music following complaints from the slum-dwellers in the neighbourhood.

But as soon as the police left, the organizers restarted the music.

Speaking on this, Irfan Sheikh, a neighbor of Preity Zinta said, “The police are not giving equal treatment to everyone. On several occasions, they had seized our instruments for playing loud music. Why haven't they done the same in this case?”

However, the bubbly actress and the pride owner of Kings Eleven IPL Team criticized media for reporting the wrong facts. An irritated actress said, “I had a party and the police came and put the music off, plus fined me, which I paid on the same night.”

She admitted that she was fined on the spot and had the receipt for the same. But some media channels wrongly reported that she continued to play loud music after the police left her house and no action was taken.

"Journalism is about investigation and reporting the facts. Things like, I broke the law and no action was taken on me plus a rich versus poor story on television channels is upsetting. I am a law abiding citizen so please check your facts before putting it on television," added the 34 year old actress.
