Contract extensions for Berlin's Favre and Frontzeck of Bielefeld
Berlin - Hertha Berlin announced Friday that it has extended coach Lucien Favre's contract by a year until 2011 while Arminia Bielefeld have agreed an extension until
2010 with their coach Michael Frontzeck.
"It is a sign of how we value him and of our confidence," Hertha general manager Dieter Hoeness told a press conference.
Hertha, who currently lie third in the Bundesliga two points behind leaders Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich, also presented new signing Leandro Cufre.
The Argentine moves from French side AS Monaco and has been given a contract until the end of the season.
Bielefeld have also extended the contract of Frontzeck by one year until 2010. Frontzeck has been at the helm at Bielefeld since January 2008 and helped secure the club's top-flight status last season.
The 44-year-old's contract remains valid even if Bielefeld, who lie two points above the drop zone, are relegated to the second division. (dpa)
