Prachanda instructs govt secretaries to fulfill his pledges

Prachanda instructs govt secretaries to fulfill his pledgesKathmandu, Jan 27 : Terming the government''s current situation as that between ''life and death,'' Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda has instructed all the government secretaries to leave no stone unturned in implementing the reforms he had promised in his message to the nation delivered on Sunday.

Inviting all government secretaries at Singha Durbar on Monday, Prachanda directed them to focus on effective implementation of the programmes by formulating clear policies and programmes.

Hinting at increasing frustration among people due to lack of immediate relief, he said if the government failed to make people feel the changes immediately, the country would face dire consequences.

In his address to nation on Sunday, he had announced a number of social, economic, cultural and political programmes targeting women, ethnic communities, Dalits, backward and marginalized groups.

Prachanda said his announcement would become national programmes and policies, if secretaries made sincere efforts to implement them.

He also claimed the leadership was committed to implement "scientific policies", and told the secretaries not to harbour any doubt that the government would be toppled, Nepalnews reported. (ANI)
