New Pak PM to take oath on March 25

Islamabad, Mar. 22 :Pervez Musharraf The new Prime Minister of Pakistan would take oath on March 25.

President Pervez Musharraf would administer the oath of office to the prime minister in a ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr, a presidential spokesman said here on Saturday.

Major General Rashid Qureshi said President Musharraf has summoned a session of the National Assembly on March 24 to elect the prime minister.

He said only prime minister would take oath on March 25, while the federal cabinet would take oath next week.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Muslim League (Qauid-e-Azam) and Pakistan Peoples Party (Patriot) have decided to field another candidate for the slot of Prime Minister after withdrawal of Farooq Sattar in favour of the PPP nominee for the slot of PM.

Though it is yet to be officially confirmed, the PPP is likely to field Yousuf Raza Gilani for the post of Prime Minister. (ANI)
