Amarok released its new music player Maya Gold Version 2.2.2. The player will be called Amarok 2.2.2 “Maya Gold”. It features BPM filtering, font changing, pod cast importing and reorganization making the player more stable and sleek.

Amarok is the premier music player for Linux and is based on KDE. The player offers real time search, minified library database and easy management, inbuilt support for last fm integration, inbuilt support for subtitles and pluggable look and feel.

Amarok has focused on improving Pod casting with OPML importing, HTML information, download limiting and update interval customization. The pod casts can now automatically download logos for shows from the internet.

The player also includes some fun features such as custom labels that allows user to tag or label their music and a moodbar that lets user change the color of the progress bar to fit his/her mood. The lyrics can also be edited with a simple keypress.

Amarok can be downloaded free for operating systems Linux, Windows and Mac OS X 10.5 however it is only officially meant for Linux.

The new features incorporated make Amarok 2.2.2 “Maya Gold” a full capacity music player.
