New Linea unveiled by Fiat at the Delhi Auto Expo
Fiat Linea T-Jet and Fiat Linea Dualogic Transmission were the new Linea variants, which were released at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010 by Italian car maker Fiat.
While the Fiat Linea Dualogic is the automatic transmission variant of the car, the Fiat Linea T-Jet model gains its energy from the new 1.4L turbocharged petrol engine that provides maximum power output of 110 bhp.
Taking under consideration the size of small car market in India, Fiat has decided to postpone any plans related to launch of its hatchback model Bravo in the country. While not disclosing details about the completion of the car, Fiat said it will create a small car for India.
Fiat India President and CEO Rajeev Kapoor, informed, "Fiat plans to develop a small car for the Indian market in Italy with the help of an Indian team. It will be launched here with our joint venture partner Tata Motors with about 80-85 percent localization."
Apart from this, three new variants of the Grande Punto, dubbed Natural Power, Sport and Trendz, were also unveiled by Fiat. A CNG tank is well fit under the boot of Fiat Grande Punto Natural Power, which will also have its present petrol tank. Moving further, Grande Punto Trendz, which is the trendy new variant, comes along with the Active Plus option that consists of new exteriors and interiors, and an MP3 CD player and FM receiver audio system. Last but not the least, Grande Punto Sports uses a 1.3-litre Multijet engine in 90bhp tune, an electric sunroof, rear spoiler, red decals and dual colour leather seats.
At the moment, all the above mentioned models of the Grande Punto are concept models, which would be available for sale later in the future.
The new Fiat 500 diesel variant with Diesel was also released by Fiat. The Diesel variant that comes under the denim brand has come out with loads of changes like the Diesel logo in the front, different paint color, 16-inch alloy wheels and brake calipers.
