Mohammad Maqbool Dar passes away
Srinagar, Apr 17 : Former Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Mohammad Maqbool Dar died in a hospital here on Thursday morning. He was 70.
Dar is survived by two wives and five children.
Former Minister had received head injury after he fell from roof-top of his house in Naogam Shangas, Anantnag.
Born on November 10, 1943 in an agriculturist family in Shangus area of Anantnag district, Dar passed law from Aligarh Muslim University.
Dar joined politics in 1971 after completed his studies.
He joined Congress in 1975 and unsuccessfully contested assembly elections in 1977, but later won in 1983. However, he lost in 1987 after he contested as an independent.
Dar contested parliamentary elections in 1996 on Janata Dal (JD) ticket and was appointed MoS Home. (ANI)
