Missouri man who killed seven could have been shattered because of his mother’s death

Missouri gunman, who killed seven people on Thursday night, may have lost his self-control, after his mother died, according to authorities. He has been identified as Joseph Jesse Aldridge, a 36-year-old man. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Joseph Aldridge shot himself, his four cousins and three other after death of his mother due to suspected natural causes.

According to Texas County Coroner Tom Whittaker, “We’re speculating that he came home and found her deceased and then for whatever reason went on a rampage and started killing people. This is just so strange. Right now, with the shooter dead, we don’t know. Is there something that sparked this?”. He added that they are still investigating the case.

Mo., Whittaker said that Aldridge’s mother Alice L. Aldridge, was being looked after by a doctor before her death, approximately 24 hours before her body was found in Tyrone. Joseph Aldridge killed two of his male cousins, who were slaughtered together with their wives. He also killed a married couple and their adult son. The bodies were recovered from two different houses.

Harold Wayne Aldridge, 50, his wife Janell Arlisa Aldridge, 48, and Garold Dee Aldridge, 52, and his wife Julie Ann Aldridge, 47, were among the ones killed by Joseph Aldridge. Other three people killed by him were identified as Valirea and Carey Shriver and Carey's father, Darrell Shriver.

According to Texas County Sheriff James Sigman, the shooting began around 10:15 pm, when Joseph Aldridge killed two people inside a Tyrone home. Investigators told that a girl, who was frightened by the incident, called police after hearing the gunshots.

Vernetta Lucille Swartz, Joseph Aldridge's aunt, who lives in Hesperia, Calif., said that the family is traumatized.
