Microsoft and Apple have not commented on the reports indicating a launch of the software on the new platform. Office for the iPad will allow Microsoft to gain from the new emerging market of tablets and help boost its software revenue, which is its core business. An overwhelming majority of businesses are buying iPad for their workers and the introduction of the software could help the edit files created on the computers.

The MS Office software could come pre-loaded onto devices or might be offered as an app through the Apple App store.
