Sounds strange, but it is true!

Delhi-6 director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has decided to gift 51 different kinds of pickles to Abhishek Bachchan on his upcoming birthday on Feb 5.

When he was asked about this, Mehra said, “During the making of Delhi 6, I realized that Abhishek has a taste for Indian food. He used to gorge on local delicacies. That’s how this came to my mind.”

It is believed that the director had ordered the pickles from Khadi Bauli, which is considered as the biggest achaar market of the country.

“They will be packed in traditional earthen pots and sent to him,” added Mehra.

Last year, Abhishek was away in Jaipur for the shoot of this film. However, this year after wrapping up his Raavan schedule, the actor is scheduled to visit US for the promotion of this film.

Delhi-6 is all set to hit the box-office on Feb 20 later this month. The movie is reportedly based on Mehra's growing up years in Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi. The film will be Mehra's third directorial venture after critically acclaimed Aks and the immensely successful Rang De Basanti.
