Manmohan Undergoes Surgical Operation At AIIMS
New Delhi: For benign enlargement of the prostate gland, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today went through a surgical operation at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Sanjaya Baru, Manmohan’s Media Adviser stated that the operation took place to treat benign prostatic dysplasia of the prostate gland.
“The Prime Minister was recovering and has had a stable post operative course,” Mr. Baru added.
For the next two days, Mr. Singh will stay at hospital, and it is likely that he will go back home by Monday morning.
A group of doctors headed by Prof. N P Gupta, head of the Department of Urology, conducted the operation that lasted till 9.00 a.m. He was admitted to the hospital at 6.00 a.m.
