Lahore, Mar. 21: Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s official website has been rated better than that of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari.

After comparing various South Asian leaders’ websites on the basis of layout, design and user friendliness, BBC News has given Indian prime Minister a score of six points out ten, while Zardari’s constantly “under construction” site got just four points.

“Fairly slow to load – ‘best viewed in IE 5 or above’ message gives away its age so this can be forgiven. This site offers user-friendly navigation, site search and contact numbers. Not bad for an older site but surely Indian technicians - renowned for being some of the brightest in the world - can do better than this?,” BBC quoted senior web consultant Keith Black, as writing.

With contact information and other “user friendly” functions, Black gave a thumb’s up to Manmohan’s site, while he seemed highly unimpressed by Zardari’s out dated design and mostly “under construction work.”

“Slightly dated design and seemingly most of the site still under construction – clear navigation though on the left hand side. But no visible method of contact through the site,” said Black of Turboweb limited - a UK-based company that designs websites around the world for politicians and businesses.

However, the BBC critic pointed out that despite technological advancements, South Asian websites were nearly two to three years behind their Europe and the US counterparts. (ANI)
