Dehradun, Dec 10: Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh lauded the Armed forces for their unblemished record of professionalism during the Passing-out Parade at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) here today.

Speaking at the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Academy, Singh said the Armed Forces are the best and the most shining example of "Unity in Diversity".

“It was the responsibility of armed forces to strengthen the values of secularism, apolitical outlook and professionalism,” he added.

Dr. Singh said his Government was committed to its technological modernization and the efforts will be made to ensure the service conditions that are continue to attract the best available talent.

Dr. Singh is the first Prime Minister in the past 25 years to review the parade.

Former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi also reviewed the parade. (ANI)
