Man taken into custody for prescribing bags of dirt to cancer patients
According to reports, a 69-year-old man was taken into custody for prescribing expired prescription drugs, phony pills and bags of dirt to patients suffering from cancer. Vincent Gammill did all this claiming that he was a qualified oncologist.
In the beginning, it was Fern, a 49-year-old woman belonging to Thousand Oaks, California, who contacted the authorities to report the matter. It has been seven years since she got the disease in form of breast cancer.
Fern came across Gammill's website when she was trying to find alternative treatments for her disease, and travelled 300 miles to take his consultation. For two days, she followed his instructions and paid $2,000 and he then prescribed her a bag of dirt in addition to other fake drugs for her condition.
It was also reported by Fern how the man asked her to mix the ingredients that were prescribed in a frying-pan prior to adding the mixture into capsules for ingestion. Fern said that she experienced a burning sensation in her abdomen after following the instructions. Reports say that she was told by Gammill that it was good, for the reason that the ingredients work this way.
As per reports, expired drugs, vials of liquid, various powders, empty capsules, in addition to bags of dirt were found by officials in both Gammill's office and home. Bottled labeled "poison" and "corrosive"and lab equipment were also found in his office and home, together with a number of Russian and Mexican prescription drugs, morphine, steroids, Ambien, and approximately 25,000 other pills.
