Kuala Lumpur - A Malaysian teenage girl has lodged a report against a dentist, claiming that he had molested her during a dental appointment, a news report said Monday. The dentist, a local political leader in his 50s, allegedly took advantage of the girl and molested her while they were alone in the treatment room of his clinic in the southern state of Johor.

The victim left the clinic and informed her parents of the incident before lodging a police report, the Star daily reported.

Police have confirmed that a report has been lodged and a statement from the dentist has been recorded.

A police spokesman said investigations have also been carried out to ascertain whether there were other victims especially those who had been unconscious under anaesthesia. (dpa)
