L&T wins order worth Rs 2000 crore
Larsen and Toubro (L&T), India's leading engineering and construction firm, has received an order worth Rs 2000 crore from GMR Energy Limited, a GMR Group company.
Under the arrangement, the company will set up a 2 x 384 MW gas based power plant for GMR at Vemagiri, near Rajamundry, Andhra Pradesh on a lump-sum turnkey basis. The scope of work includes design, detailed engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of the plant.
A company official stated that L&T- Sargent and Lundy, a subsidiary of L&T, will carry out the plant integration and detailed engineering, using propriety technology of Sargent & Lundy LLC, USA.
The project is expected to be completed in the 11th Plan, which ends in 2012.
