Lata Mangeshkar Croons For Bhandarkar’s Next!

Lata MangeshkarThe nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar crooned a special track for Madhur Bhandarkar’s under production movie ‘Jail’.

The song ‘Daata Sun Maula Sun’ composed by ace music director Shamir Tandon deals with the lives of prisoners.

While talking to media persons, Lataji said that she was happy to lend her voice for the movie.

Lataji had given her nod to sing the song few days back. Moreover, it’s her first song for a Bollywood film after a big gap.

“So, it was absolutely like a family and it was a great moment for me when all this happened. I really wanted her to sing, so I asked her to record whenever she is free,” an elated Bhandarkar told.

Though there was news that the song is a devotional number on the lines of Do Aankhen Barah Haath’s ‘Ae Maalik Tere Bandein Hum’, Lataji quickly refused it.

“Ae maalik tere bande hum was very different. It had different words, different tune and in the picture also it was very different. Everyone thinks this song is similar to Ae malik tere bande hum, but it is not the case. It's a different style,” the veteran singer clarified.

Previously, Mangeshkar sung for Bhandarkar's Page 3 (Kitne Ajeeb Rishte Hai Yaha Pe) released in 2005.

The film staring Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Mughda Godse will hit theatres on October 2.
