Kingfisher employees resurrect their demand for pending dues

Kingfisher employees resurrect their demand for pending dues A group of Kingfisher Airlines are reportedly camping at the Kingfisher House, close to the Mumbai airport's domestic terminal, demanding their pending dues.

The group of 50-60 agitating employees is demanding a meeting with promoter Vijay Mallya to make him aware of their financial problems.

They said they were given their salaries for months, and they had run out of their patience. They warned that they would get more employees as well as their family members to join them to reinforce their protest.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, an employee said, "We have lost all our patience. Kingfisher must clear our dues immediately. Since Wednesday, we have been insisting for a meeting with Mr. Mallya."

Hundreds of Kingfisher employees, including senior managers and pilots, have quit as the carrier has failed to present a substantial revival plan.

The carrier has not been operating since October 1 last year. The flights were suspended first due to protests by employees over not being paid their salaries. Later, the regulator rejected the carrier's revival plan.

Kingfisher Airlines, currently, is reeling under accumulated debt and losses of more than Rs 16,023 crore. A consortium of lenders, led by SBI, has already initiated proceedings to recover debt from the carrier.
