Jet Airways strike to continue, management sticks to stand

Jet AirwaysJet Airways management and its striking staff failed to reach at any acceptable decision leaving the standoff to continue even after a marathon nine-hour meeting. In the meantime, air services continued to suffer for the fourth successive day with cancellation of more than 200 national and international flights.

Besides disruption in services, the airline is losing about Rs 7.5 crore a day.

It should be recalled that Jet pilots are agitating against sacking of two pilots by the Jet management. Girish Kausik, president of newly formed Jet Pilots Union, National Aviators Guild (NAG), said "Solution will come up soon as they (management) have agreed to take back the sacked pilots."

He said that union has been doing everything possible to break the impasse for the larger interests of Airways and passengers. Both sides will continue talks on Saturday amid management's firm stand against formation of any active union.
