Jenner doesn't have any magic formula
Australian legend Shane Warne’s mentor, Terry Jenner termed alignment as a basic problem in young spinners. The Australian is here on the invitation of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) to provide inputs to the city's young spinners.
He was happy to see the attendance at the Ferozshah Kotla here on Monday where as many as 50 youngsters were present to take tips from him. Jenner said that even a national-level camp in Australia wouldn't have so many spinners as he is seeing in Ferozshah Kotla. He termed it unfortunate to invite coach from abroad when the country possesses a good pool of talent.
He divided the bowlers into three categories -- right-arm off-spinners, right-arm leg-arm spinners and orthodox left-arm spinners. The physical exertions seem to be affecting the veteran Aussie. He was also unable to cop with Delhi’s muggy season. The current assignment seems tough for Jenner in the environment of Delhi.
Middle-order batsmen Gundappa Viswanath is also invited in the camp from July 25. he will guide the young players about the norms and new strategies of batsman ship and bowling.
