IPS probationers undertake Kashmir to Kanyakumari bicycle rallyNew Delhi, Dec 25 : A team from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy has successfully undertaken a bicycle expedition from Kashmir to Kanyakumari between November 7 to December 14.

This is the first time such an expedition has been conducted by a police team in the country with the theme “Indian Police in the Service of the Nation.”

The five-member team took the 4,000 –kilometer long journey in 38 days.

Several police personnel, including seniors with the rank of Inspector General of Police, participated in the expedition. NCC cadets, college and school students and sports persons also took part in the event.

The Tamil Nadu stretch of the expedition observed the 150 years celebration of the Tamil Nadu State Police. Fifty five Tamil Nadu Special Police personnel accompanied the expedition team from the border of Tamil Nadu to Kanyakumri on cycles. The Director, National Police Academy, received the team in Kanyakumari.

The team interacted with several school and college students and the public on the sidelines of the expedition. They used these interactions to emphasize the need for maintaining the unity and integrity of the country.

The Border Security Force (BSF) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) provided logistics and security support for the expedition. (ANI)
