Internet and Facebook are more important than necessity, survey
In a new survey conducted by Science Museum in London, British people ranked Internet and Facebook higher than basic necessities in the list of 50 important things.
The study, which was conducted show the importance of clean drinking water, ranked `Facebook' at number five and `internet connection' was at number two above the `clean drinking water' at number three. The list was lead by `sunshine', which is desired by most Britishers and the `fridge' taking the forth spot.
The sixth item on the list is NHS, followed by Cooker at seventh, Email at eighth, a Flushing toilet at ninth and finally, mobile phone / smartphone on the tenth spot. Interestingly, about 15 out of the 50 essential items included items such as eBay, iPods and Twitter, which have come into existence recently.
The survey included answers from 300 adults, who listed things which they cannot live without. The survey was conducted as part of Water Wars: Fight The Food Crisis, anew exhibition in the museum.
