Infosys Aiming HigherIndia’s biggest technology company Infosys Technologies Ltd. (INFO), is in a mood to expand its shore to health care and government sectors by acquiring and adding up more companies under its already enlarged wings.

Yesterday in an interview in Bangalore, Chairman N. R. Narayana Murthy informed that a team has been set up to search for such eligible companies having main target area at non-English speaking countries. So far the team has already scanned 150 potential companies.

In the past five years, at a turnover of $3.6 billion, Infosys has left behind rivals like Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS). After registering enormous growth by tapping the job outsourcing opportunities offered by USA and western economy, Indian software companies are now eying overseas market and new industries. Non-English speaking countries like Philippines will allow them to set up low-cost centers.

But as per Walter Rossini, who manages a 250 million euro ($347 million) India equity fund at Aletti Gestielle SGR SpA in Milan, these tech-giant should rather concentrate and wait for the right time and opportunity then to invest cash t just for the sake of it.

Meanwhile, even after prices of Infosys fell by 0.4% to 3,102.45 rupees in the morning, it still valued $40 billion dollar, more than that of Philadelphia-based rival Accenture Plc. (ACN).
