Indian prime minister discharged from hospital
New Delhi - Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was discharged Thursday from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences where he underwent a coronary angiography as part of a series of heart-related tests, officials said.
"He has been discharged. He is hale and hearty and has gone back home," Dr KS Reddy, the prime minister's personal physician was quoted as saying by PTI news agency.
Singh, 76, had undergone coronary angiography along with a series of other tests at the hospital on Tuesday and Wednesday, leading to concern about his health.
Singh, who had undergone a bypass surgery in Britain several years ago, had complained of chest pain after which it was decided to carry out the tests.
"He is normal. He is back at work and is functioning from his Race Course Road residence which has an office," the prime minister's media adviser Deepak Sandhu said. (dpa)
