Tehran, Nov 2:  External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday said that India would like to address the issues of peace, stability and development in Pakistan as it affects the bilateral relation between the two neighbours.

While inaugurating a seminar on ''India and Iran: Ancient civilisations and modern nations'' in Teheran, Mukherjee said, “New Delhi wants to see peace, stability and development in Pakistan as it is in India''s interest.”

On terrorism, Mukherjee said it constitutes one of the most serious threats to global peace.

Citing the case of Kabul Embassy attack he said, "Terrorists may claim to act on behalf of religion, but in truth they have no religion, because the essence of religions is peace and universal brotherhood, and not violence."

Mukherjee was in Tehran to attend the India-Iran Joint Commission Meeting and discuss the 7.4-billion dollar Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project. (ANI)
