Imports From Pakistan To Be Eased

Islamabad: A senior representative said that India has decided to eliminate restrictions on import of 20 items from Pakistan without asserting on Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status and transportation facility for Afghanistan.

The product list is made in reference with business and industry that would contain items that Pakistan can export easily, without disturbing domestic needs.

Expressing fulfillment over the development made at the last week's Indo-Pak trade discussion, Commerce Secretary Asif Ali Shah stated, “I hope that Pakistan's exports to India will increase to a reasonable level.”

The two-day discussions took hold in New Delhi under the fourth round of combined conversation route were followed by a conference of Joint Study Group (JSC) of the two countries.

Mr. Shah said that the Commerce Ministry would discuss with all stakeholders before conveying the list of 20 items of Pakistan's preference.
