Hyundai to showcase ix35 FCEV at EcoVelocity show

EcoVelocitySouth Korean automotive giant, Hyundai ha said that it will showcase its new ix35 FCEV though the EcoVelocity show next week in the UK.

The Hyundai ix35 FCEV (Fuel-Cell Electric Vehicle) is a variation on the electric vehicle. It gets power from a clean hydrogen fuel cell that only emits water vapour. The third-generation fuel-cell vehicle claims to run for 360 miles with a single hydrogen fill.

The company claims that the vehicle can go from 0-62mph in just 12.8 seconds and it has atop speed of 100mph. The fuel-cell mechanism is capable of working in temperatures as low as -25 degrees Celsius.

Hyundai UK managing director Tony Whitehorn said, "We are extremely excited to be showcasing the ix35 FCEV in the UK for the first time at EcoVelocity. Hyundai is a world leader in the development of hydrogen-powered technology and is constantly researching and developing modes of transportation that use alternative fuels at the Eco-technology research institute in Mabuk, Korea.”

He said that the final aim is to offer zero emission in the UK within the next few years but this will be determined by the supporting infrastructure and market. The Hyundai ix35 FCEV will be showcased at the company’s stand at Battersea Power Station from the 8th to the 11th of September.
