Hussey drops out of top 10 in ICC rankings

Michael HusseyMelbourne, Jan. 1 (ANI): Australian batsman Michael Hussey has been forced out of the top 10 in the world Test batting rankings for the first time in nearly three years.

After making just 10 runs in his last four innings, Hussey is ranked 11th in the latest ICC list.

According to the Courier Mail, Hussey goes into the third Test against South Africa on Saturday with scores of 0, 8, 0 and 2 in the first two Tests and finds himself outside the top 10 rankings for the first time since March, 2006.

His embattled teammate Matthew Hayden has also dropped further in the rankings, down two spots to 18th.

Hayden is averaging just 21 in his last 10 Test knocks, with only one score over 50 in that time.

Michael Clarke and Ricky Ponting are, however, ranked high. Clarke has reached the highest ranking of his career, climbing three places to ninth, while Ponting is up to sixth after his knocks of 101 and 99 in the second Test at the MCG.
