HTC-Rcom tie up to launch ‘Android’ smartphone
HTC, the handset maker based in Taiwan, agreed to an exclusive partnership with the cellular operator Reliance Communications with the aim of launching a smartphone enabled with the latest 3G technology in the Indian market, at a price of Rs. 16,590.
This new 3G Android phone, called the HTC Wildfire, is slated to be released at authorised HTC stores and sellers all over the country.
The phone will have the Android operating system which is usually useable on mobile devices like tablet computers and netbooks, besides cellular phones.
The HTC Wildfire has a stylish design and has the applications of Facebook, Orkut, Twitter, Flickr etc. all stored in one handset.
People using the Reliance Communications (RCOM) GSM service can upgrade to this new phone and get up to 500 MB of free data usage for six months. The phone has other significant features like a 3.2" touch screen and a 5-megapixel camera.
The HTC Wildfire is expected to meet the demands of the generation-next with its strategical services and other important features like a superior voice quality and high speed wireless data network access.
