Honda Rolls Out New Version Of 'CBF Stunner' Bike @ Rs 64,630Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India (HMSI) has made announcement about the launching of a new version of its 125 cc sports bike ‘CBF Stunner’ at a price of Rs 64,630 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

In a major announcement, HMSI said that the recent launch is the part of its plan to boost its sales in the Indian two-wheeler market.

Mr. Shinji Aoyama, HMSI Chief Executive Officer said, “Last fiscal we sold about 10.7 lakh units of two-wheelers and this year we are targeting 12 per cent increase at 12.5 lakh units. And the CBF Stunner will play an important role.”
 
The new CBF Stunner is targeted at youth. Its 4 stroke self-start 125 cc air-cooled engine delivers maximum output of 11.6 bhp.

The new bike, which comes equipped with PGM-FI (Programme Fuel Injection) technology that increases overall fuel efficiency (65 km a litre) as well as performance.

The new bike will hit markets by the first week of the coming month (June 2009).

By 2010, HMSI is also planning to foray into the high-volume 100-cc entry level motorcycle segment with a price range between Rs 40,000 and Rs 45,000.

“The Indian two-wheeler market is predominantly motorcycle-oriented, therefore, we are aligning ourselves according to the market. We will further consolidate our presence through new launches,” Mr. Aoyama added.

The recent data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the overall sales of two-wheeler saw an increase of 2.60% at 74,37,670 units during the last financial year, as against 72,49,278 units in FY'08.

At 10:44 a.m., the shares of Hero Honda gained 0.65% to trade at Rs 1,342.55 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The share price has seen a 52-week high of Rs 1500 and a low of Rs 630.15 on BSE. Current EPS and P/E of the stock stood at 64.19 & 20.92 respectively.
