HCG to have Rs.31 crore investment from Milestone Religare
HealthCare Global Enterprises (HCG) is going to see Rs. 31.2 crore pumped into it from Milestone Religare Investment Advisors.
After this, the total investment by Milestone Religare in the healthcare sector will touch the Rs. 100 crore level.
Milestone Religare is going to make this investment through its private equity fund, Build-Out Fund -1. This was told in a statement released by the company. The investment will be made from the Rs. 6 billion corpus that the fund has made.
While HCG is a Bangalore-based company, which has a network of 20 hospitals which are super-specialty in nature, Milestone Religare is a joint venture between Religare Investment Advisors and Milestone Group.
HCG specializes in treating cancer and also owns CyberKnife, which provides radiation treatment to cancer patients.
Talking about the plan, Dr. Amit Verma, Member of the Board and Investment Committee said that they are looking forward to the huge opportunity that the cancer treatment segment provides. As of now, only 24 government-funded centers and a few companies provide this care.
Build-Out Fund -1 looks for interests in healthcare industry across India and has made some big investments in the past.
