Gujjars want Pilot’s presence in mass funeral
Jaipur, June 6 : Gujjars have today demanded the presence of Congress MP Sachin Pilot, as a precondition for the cremation of 20 agitators killed in the May 24 violence.
The Dausa district Gujjar Samaj also wants the release of two rebel Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs, Prahalad Gunjal and Attar Singh Bhadana, currently detained in Cental Jail in Jaipur.
Meanwhile, Gujjars have been moving into Pilupura- Karwadi area in Bharatpur district today to participate in a meeting called by K S Bainsla to discuss the Rajasthan Government's invitation for talks.
The Gujjars have been agitating in support of their demand for being granted Scheduled Tribe status.
The protests have often turned violent and resulted in deaths of both members of the community as well as police. (ANI)
