World's largest search engine Google, already offering the successful free email service, Gmail and social networking site orkut, has now acquired Picnik.

Picnik is a web-based flash powered photo editing service. Picasa, Facebook, Flickr, Yahoo Mail, and Photobucket also offer similar services.

The Google employees were quite upbeat about their acquisition as they believe that they had acquired this at a decent price. Google has already announced that the company would not be making any changes in the current site and would focus on adding new features.

After Facebook, Flickr is one of the largest photos sharing websites. Facebook uses Picknik's photo editing capabilities. Though Adobe Photoshop's online version is also available but it does not integrate itself with any site and is not very popular, also Picasa isn't doing much online.

As of now, everyone is interested in knowing about the new features that Google is planning to add to the new acquired website.
