GMR Infra Net Up By 6 %

GMR InfraGMR Infrastructure, the flagship company of GMR Group, has posted a six per cent increase in net profit at Rs 53.24 crore during the fourth quarter ended March 2009 as against Q4 of 2007-08.

In a disclosure to BSE, the company said that it had a net profit of Rs 50.02 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008.

Commenting on this, GM Rao (Group Chairman, GMR) said: "Despite the recessionary trends in the economy and the effects of the global meltdown, the GMR Group has been able to demonstrate peak revenue growth, spotless project execution, improved operational efficiency and timely funding for all its projects and acquisitions."

The total income of the Bangalore-based company climbed to Rs 1,327.07 crore in the quarter ended March 2009, from Rs 905.19 crore in the same period last year.

For the financial year ended March 31, company's net profit rose 33.4 per cent to Rs 279.45 crore, while net revenue rose massively 75.1 per cent to Rs 4,476 crore compared to the previous year.

The operating profits of the company were higher by 78.2 per cent to Rs 1,067 crore.

Its total income increased from Rs 2,364.53 crore for the year ended on March 31, 2008 to Rs40,40.37 crore in the 2009 fiscal.

The company generates most of its revenue from its power and airports businesses.
