Gilani’s foreign trips cost Pak exchequer a whopping 139.06 million rupeesIslamabad, Mar. 6 : The Pakistan Government has spent a whopping 139.06 million rupees on Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's foreign visits.

According to a report tabled in the National Assembly, Gilani's foreign tours to10 countries from May 2008 to January 2009 has made Pakistan Government's wallet lighter by 139.06 million rupees.

Gilani's trip to the United States, Britain and Sri Lanka from July 26 to August 3 last year itself cost a staggering 43.55 million rupees.

Similarly, his visit to Cairo from May 17 to 22 last year cost 29.56 million rupees , Saudi Arabia from June 6 to 8, 11.88 million rupees, Malaysia and Dubai from July 7 to 9,
9.26 million rupees and two visits to China from August 7 to 9 and October 23 to 26 , 37.85 million rupees.

Gilani's tour to Turkey in January this year was billed at 6.95 million rupees.

According to The Daily Times, the National Assembly was also informed that 366.77 million dollars were provided by the United States to Pakistan for educational reforms during the last five years. (ANI)
