Thousands fish found dead along Gujarat coast

Dumas (Gujarat), Sept 22 : Thousands of fish have been found dead along the coast in Gujarat State.

Initial investigation suggests an oil spill as the possible cause.

Those residing along the Dumas Beach, which is about 30 kilometers from Surat City, have expressed alarm over the incident.

Officials, who conducted a probe, said the dead fish were sticky, which suggested they had been covered by oil and chemicals.

Violence erupts in Kolkata over murder of a Muslim youth

Kolkata, Sept 22 : Violence erupted in Kolkata on Saturday following the murder of a Muslim youth.

An irate mob of over hundred people clashed with police in the city, and also blocked roads after rumours spread of the murder.

Police had to resort to tear-gassing to bring the situation under control.

Two vehicles were burnt and property was damaged before the mob was dispersed by the police.
